Majorette sets

I grew up playing with a similar set by Majorette, my  afternoons were absorbed by building a super city: buildings, cars, street signs. An industrial paradise. The French toy maker was primarily known for  majorette die cast cars, which I also got handed down from my older brother. Finding a connection between my recent OrlandoLand paper collages and the toys I played with as a child. Follow my series on instagram @ orlandoland407

sticks and yarn and pigtails

Expermenting with sticks from the yard and yarn, very simple topper for a dome. Thunderstorms cut the exercise short, but cooled us down considerably.  Little one fixated on a straw structure, I take a childs interest in my art as a compliment. Kids know whats up.

Thanks Sam Myers

Blurred life- Scooter

Developing series of Sinkhole paintings. Why is Florida prone to sinkholes? Are we allowing sink holes to happen more frequently because of our impact on the environment? Don't lose your stink hole in a Florida sink hole.

Kitchen table painting

A series of mixed media paper collages about highway landscape in progress. I started using an oil crayon,  that's water based, mixing with acrylic paint. Yes, this is my kitchen table, it's where the magic happens.

Participation Table

Two weeks from today I will be participating in this year's Participation 2014 Dinner Affair at Maitland Art and History Center. I will be there to present a table in which 10 guest will enjoy dinner, music and art. I will be elaborating on my current theme of straw-frastructures and their impact on the evening's environment, involving light and shadow.

Garden Domes

I am working on a series of paintings and drawings called Garden Domes, based on the installation piece I did at The Art and History Center Maitland in February. This piece features an endangered barred owl coming out of the dome structure.

Culture Pop is a unique one-night only pop-up exhibition of central Florida’s fine artists and artisans.  Join us in the main garden for Wild at Heart, featuring artwork by Danielle DeGuglimo and Katherine Bennett.
View the unique perspectives of these two artists in the Main Garden.  Bennett creates small scale paintings that explore the special relationships between humans and animals. DeGuglimo’s work is a response to an absurd balance between man-made infrastructure and the natural landscape – she plans to create a large scale installation in the Main Garden.  Both artists explore human interactions with nature, each with warm and contemporary perspective.
Join us this Valentine’s Day with the artwork of DeGuglimo and Bennett, then stay the night with jazz music by Dan Jordan, Relax in the Mayan Lounge with music, food, and libations, and join us in the Packwood Avenue Reading room for readings by Brad and Darlyn Kuhn of Maitland Poets and Writers.  Culture Pop is your one-stop Friday night experience – and an unique Valentine’s for the culture lover.
